Let the good times roll. Good fishing and great guests have given us another memorable and enjoyable week on the boats. We had perfect weather and and some of the most compatible guests ever on our overnight adventure to the Isle of Shoals (NH) this weekend. In the picture below Keith, Bob Posner (NH) and Wayne Guyette (NH) settle in to enjoy some of Ms. Jeanette Mom's honey roasted chicken as the sun sets in the background.
My campsite neighbor Bob Conner(MA) was high hook on Friday afternoon, but another neighbor and friend Greg Brown (NH) cleaned every bodies clock on Saturday catching the most fish, cumulating with this beautiful 27.5 Maine State trophy cod. Greg was kind enough to release this beauty shortly after this picture was taken ( top of post).
To top off a great weekend, Captain Whit bested our offshore trophy cod, on a weekend inshore trip with this 44 pound trophy striper landed by Ms. Jamie Frank (Ma) . Jamie was also kind enough to release her beautiful fish back to the ocean alive. Fish of this size have over 2 million eggs that they can span annually. Foresighted anglers like Jamie and Greg help insure the future of our fishery for all our grandchildren. Provided we don't let blatant greed like that displayed in the gulf off my old home in New Orleans destroy our whole planet.
The children also had a super time on our 2 hr family trips this week. Sister's Julian and Megan Laurie (MA) shown below having fun catching a few macs on Monday's trip. My cousin Julian (right) looks a bit like ol' Captain Satch did when I was her age at Hammanesset Beach many years ago.. Cousin Megan looks a bit more like the McMahon Family elders. I know our grandma would be very proud of our families successes.
